Tony’s Heart Condition
Hi! Thanks for all you do! Any fics that involve Tony with a heart condition/issues caused by the reactor?
There is a list of Fics Focusing on the Arc Reactor, but here are some about Tony’s heart condition. Obviously, some of these might deal with character death, so mind the tags if that isn’t what you are looking for.

It Was Just a Matter of Time by KidTroop:
The clock was ticking. And then, black.
This Can’t Be the Last by @musicalluna:
Hours after a mission ends, Tony’s heart starts to race.
That Spot of Blue by @everybodyilovedies:
When Tony finds out he’s pregnant, he immediately begins working with
Bruce to figure out how to terminate it. But when Bruce lets slip to
Steve about Tony’s condition, things get complicated, quickly. Steve
wants Tony to keep the child, but Tony isn’t sure if his heart –
literally and figuratively – can take it. Meanwhile, a plot is brewing
in the background, threatening superhumans and trying to pit them
against one another, all in the name of Registration. Is this related to
Tony’s pregnancy? (Yes.) And if so, should he really keep the child?
Blood Loss by @wisiaden:
The serum really did work a miracle. It created Captain America, and
Tony would like the serum to work a miracle on him too. If only he
didn’t fall in love.
Some Other Heartbeat by AllieBC:
Tony Stark, exotic dancer and a little something else on the side, has a
heart condition. Steve Rogers adds to it when he falls for the one time
customer.
darling, your worth is in more than gold by shell-heads: Tony’s hands are the kind that create new worlds and
opportunities for people who haven’t learned what it means to live and
not survive, hands that touch paper and make it bloom into something
beautiful on a level beyond art because it saves lives and homes and is
only the very tip of what he can do with those hands calloused from hard
work and determination.“I’m sorry about your hands,” Tony says, and Steve laughs. “Tony,”
Steve tells him, quiet and plaintive as he spreads his bloody, bruised
hands out. “I use these hands to draw something and it changes nothing.
You use your hands, you could make a machine that saves an entire third
world country halfway across the world.”

: Tony Stark has already accepted his fate but Steve Rogers is determined to save his life.
And Begin Again Tomorrow by BlackEyedGirl:
Steve can tell there’s something wrong with Tony. He just doesn’t know
what happened. Or why Tony’s friends seem to think it’s his fault.
warning by @laireshi:
Tony’s left arm hurts.
Damaged by Kittyswriting: Prompt: Can you write a story where Tony is having
heart problems again even after the shrapnel and arc reactor is removed,
like he needs a pacemaker or something please? :)Steve is worried about Tony after the doctor tells them Tony needs a
pacemaker. Tony being Tony decides to build something better.
In Case of (Coronary) Emergency by @veldeia:
Normal people make embarrassing phone calls while drunk, but not Tony.
He only makes embarrassing phone calls while having a heart attack.
Somehow We Always End Up Here by @viennasunrise: “The test results have finished, sir.”“Volume,
J,” Tony said, wincing at the sound. Maybe things were a lot worse than
he realised if listening to JARVIS was going to exacerbate his headache.
“My apologies, sir,” JARVIS said softly, “You appear to be
suffering from an unintended side effect of the Power Cosmic. I cannot
isolate the virus but it seems to be attacking your circulatory system,
sir.”Tony groaned. The news wasn’t entirely unexpected; given his
symptoms it made perfect sense that whatever it was, was going to
attack his weakest point. If you thought about it, it was the perfect
bookend to his tenure as Iron Man. The heart condition he suffered
post-Afghanistan made him Iron Man and being Iron Man ultimately gave
him a lovely new heart condition he wasn’t sure he could cure. He leaned
forward, suddenly overwhelmed with the weight of it all, and dropped
his head into his hands. “At its current rate your heart will be unable to survive longer than six months.“
Crossfire by citsiurtlanu:
Though both the war and his days of adventuring for Marvels are
over, Tony Stark is still looking for a cure to his failing heart. When
Nick Fury asks him and Captain America to investigate a newly
discovered world dubbed the Savage Land, Tony jumps at the chance,
hoping to find something – anything – that’ll fix him. But once Tony
finds that something, he discovers that it comes at the cost of Steve’s
humanity – leaving Tony to struggle to turn him back before it’s too
late.
The Longing and the Yearning by @sineala:
The year is 1963, and Colonel Steve Rogers has been the Iron Man since
1940. His recent brush with death in a fight against the Hulk has left
him scarred, broken, and – unwillingly – in retirement. He’ll never
wear the armor again. Tony Stark, the new owner of Stark Industries, is
young, brilliant, ambitious, and he has a few ideas of his own about the
next Iron Man. But when Tony shows up at Steve’s door one evening, the
conversation quickly turns to matters other than business. Tony is
smart, gorgeous, half Steve’s age, and he’s definitely not offering what
Steve and his lonely fantasies wish he were offering. And even if he
were, Steve should definitely not take him up on it.
Moth by @ironlawyer:
Everything they have is built on lies. Tony is addicted to the life Skrull Steve gives him.
Humbugs and Heart by MountainRose:
Tony’s hurt, and there’s only one place Jarvis knows he’ll be safe. At
least they have met the man, or this would be exceedingly awkward.(It’s not awkward, Steve would never make this awkward.)
