Actually, that happens a lot where one or both of them end up accidentally hurting the other’s feelings, usually some kind of miscommunication or misunderstanding. But, here are some suggestions for you in the “emotional hurt” trope:

The fight at the end of CA:WS goes very differently. And suddenly Steve
has to make decisions. He may not be the most reasonable person right
now. But Tony is hurt, so how can anyone expect him to act reasonably?
