Podfics
Hey, any good podfics you could recommend to listen to on the bus? Some fluffy, humorous stiff with some plot – smut is okay, too, but not the one that makes your face flash red in public? You know what I mean? Thanks in advance! 🙂
Oooooh, podfics! I’m so impressed with the people who create these. Really, if you enjoy podfics, you can’t go wrong with any of them because, not surprisingly, the classic fics tend to get the podfic treatment. So, definitely go through the tag when you have time, because they are all great fics and definitely worth a listen. Here are some you might enjoy with the ratings noted, so you can decide if it is a good time to listen to them or not. Enjoy!

“I’m trying to like you, Tony. You’re just making it very hard.” Steve Rogers/Tony Stark (E)
Ready, Aim, Fire by gyzym, read by reena_jenkins:
There’s no “I” in “Avenger.” (M)
Some Things Shouldn’t Be a Chore by @scifigrl47, read by darlingsweet: Steve takes things like personal responsibility and
respect seriously. Tony’s got people he pays to take care of that kind
of thing, and anyway, he’s pretty sure that he’s going to die of some
exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy’s still a little spotty
about what is ‘clean’ enough to put on an open wound. The rest of the
Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys
being a dick.And some things shouldn’t be a chore. (T)
Looking For Heaven by foxcubb, read by miss_marina95:
Author summary: When young Lord Anthony Stark learns Steven Rogers has
enlisted in the army, he thinks he’s seen the last of his tiny,
headstrong, haughty stable boy. But four years later, Lord Stark gets an
unexpected visit from Steve, whose mother has fallen gravely ill and
into financial ruin. Even more unexpected, Steve agrees to a shocking
proposal: they will marry, giving Steve the necessary funds to save his
mother, and Tony the much-needed reprieve from harassing would-be
suitors. It is a business arrangement, nothing more. But as time goes on
and circumstances arise, Tony begins to learn that keeping his heart
away from his husband is easier said than done.

The Act of Creation Will Be Your Salvation by @scifigrl47, read by reena_jenkins:
“When Tony Stark was seventeen years old, he built his first AI. On
that day, he ceased to be his father’s creation, and became a creating
force in his own right.
That one act likely saved his life, and not always in the most obvious ways.“ (M)
Hypotenuse by derryderrydown, read by RSCreighton:
Steve breaks up with Tony because he’s in love with Iron Man. That’s when things start to get complicated.
(E)
Hashtag Finally by @wordsplat, read by Renton6echo:
Tony doesn’t ever actually ask the Avengers to move into his house,
steal his wifi, eat all his food, and become the best family he’s ever
known. They do it anyway.

The Billionaire and the Army Captain by @captainneverever, read by bienenalster:
Facing finanical ruin and needing to care for his sick daughter, Steve
Rogers agrees to marry Tony Stark, who needs to get married by his 30th
birthday to inherit. It’s just a job for Steve until he starts to fall
for the enigmatic billionaire.
(G)
Deep Waters by AlchemyAlice, read by kerravon: “His power’s running low, the arc reactor flickering. Cold, rancid
sewer water is rushing into the fissure at his torn up shoulder, filling
up the gaps, rising along his neck in frigid fingers. He’s been like
this before.”Tony Stark, his PTSD, and Steve Rogers dealing with it. (T)
Run Program DUM-E by @everybodyilovedies, read by kalakirya:
Taking care of Tony is a lot of work. Especially when you’ve only got one arm. And your code dates back to the 1980s. (M)
Living in the Future by Closer, read by Opalsong:
Eighteen-year-old Tony Stark is the boy genius who woke Captain America,
and now he’s stuck with him. That’s not a bad thing, but between
Steve’s wide-eyed wonder at the new world and Tony’s little fanboy
crush, the awkwardness just keeps happening. (M)
I (created from fantasies) exist solely for you by Mizzy, read by badfinch: Six years ago, without the Avengers Initiative there to save the day,
scientist Dr. Eric Selvig sacrificed himself to save the world, the
almighty demi-god Thor was lost to a terrible storm, and vigilante Iron
Man – spotted with a nuclear weapon trying to take advantage of the
situation – was forever labelled an enemy of SHIELD.This is a
comic book office AU, where Steve is defrosted a year too late, Thor has
forgotten who he is, and no one knows Tony is Iron Man.Also includes: office pranks, inappropriate post-it notes, and superheroes who like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain (T)
Even the Light is an Illusion by Mizzy, read by Liannabob: Death threats are an unfortunate side-effect of being Tony Stark, so
he’s learned to ignore them. The problem is, when someone really wants
you dead, hiding your head in the sand just kinda exposes your ass.But
it’s not just Tony’s behind on the line. Whoever wants him dead wants
him to suffer first, and they’re willing to do anything to make that
happen. Tony knows there’s only one way out. To save Steve, the
Avengers, and the general public, Tony has to die. Of course, death
isn’t always the end, and Tony does what any other self-disrespecting
scientist would do: he finds a way to fake his death and avenge his own
murder. The trouble is, terrible decisions usually have a terrible
price, and this one is no different. Tony has a chance to save the day,
but the cost may be more than Tony was ever expecting to pay…(T)
Thumb, Index and Pinky Extended by Eudoxia, read by DuendeVerde4:
Tony Stark is twenty-one when he loses his voice. It shouldn’t matter,
but in a world where the first words your Soulmate says to you are
marked on your skin, it can be pretty damn annoying.
(not rated, but probably T)
Be No Stranger (All Your Saints and Soldiers Remix) by jibrailis, read by fire_juggler, paraka:
That’s the twenty-first century love song, baby. Glitz and glamour and every one of us is a liar.

Degrees of Separation by plingo_kat, read by reena_jenkins:
Oh god, what if Jarvis infected Dummy with, with emotions. Jesus Christ. (G)
Slipping Off the Page Into Your Hands by @sineala, read by RSCreighton:
Soulmates have their first words to each other written on their wrists.
This should make it easy. For Steve and Tony, it is anything but.
Steve’s problem is that the future he has awoken into is nothing he was
ever expecting: he has a soulmate now. Who might be a robot. And if his
soulmate is Iron Man, how can he be so attracted to Tony Stark? It
should be impossible. Tony’s problem is that he is Iron Man, his
soulmate is a man whom he in no way deserves, and he is going to fight
everything in his heart and do his best to make sure Steve never, ever
finds out the whole truth.
(E)
To Make Much of Time by @sineala, read by paraka:
When Iron Man rejects Steve’s romantic advances, Steve is disappointed,
but of course he understands – Iron Man’s secret identity is important.
But when a portal opens and Tony Stark crashes into their midst from
twelve years in the future, Steve starts to suspect that there are more
secrets here than he can even begin to comprehend, and neither Iron Man
nor Tony are providing any answers.
(T)
Plus One by @sineala, read by stuckwithyou:
Tony wants Steve to accompany him to a gala. They’re not together. Tony
doesn’t seem to think this is a problem, but he doesn’t know about
Steve’s feelings for him. And Steve’s certainly not going to tell him.
(G)
The Opposite of a Problem by @sineala, read by exmanhater: “I promise to love, honor, and probably not obey you,
and, uh, take you as my totally-unlawfully-wedded husband, in sickness
and in health, forsaking all others, until death do us part, or for at
least the next seventy-two hours.”(Or: Tony and Steve get fake-married for the sake of the mission.) (T)
Follow In Your Footsteps by @sineala, read by paraka: When Tony is twelve, his soulmate’s name appears on his wrist.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to find out anything at all about Steve Rogers. It turns out there’s a reason for that. (T)

Tony Stark, billionaire funder of the Avengers, never expected the
incredible Steve Rogers, Captain America, to ask him out. No one knows
